Partying Like She's 9 years old!
People will say she's just a cat. But as you can see, she's not just any cat (She's getting ready to blow out the candle on her cake for crying out loud, how ordinary is that?). She's very special and I tell her all the time that she HAS to outlive me.
She's sitting here, curled up next to me, too pooped to keep her eyes open. (She partied hard, but those pictures are top secret, she doesn't want the scandal).
Happy Birthday Scrawnie-brat!

New Family Member
I know, I know...I am a sucker. But how can you say no to this little face?
He's a 2 and a half year old Maine Coon kitty. That translates to HUGE! I am amazed by him. I've never had such a lovable kitty nor one who actually comes when he is called. Really!

His name is Mook. I looked up what it means and it's not good. Unfortunately, He's partial to his name already. He especially likes being called The Mookster.

Seriously, not by my creation either, his paperwork stated that and it's very true. I like calling him Mook-a-latte. Hubs likes calling him Mook-a-chino. As you can see...THAT he does not like.

Shut it already, will ya? Sheesh!

The day Scrawn almost killed me...
I spent most of my time falling asleep every time I sat down this weekend. Not much fun.
Except for Saturday when Scrawn tried to kill me. You see that picture above. That's Scrawn, on an electric throw. You see that little remote control thingy next to her. It controls the throw.
Saturday I was so exhausted after getting Hubs up I drug myself to the sofa where I plopped down and fell asleep. I fell asleep in such a way that this electric throw was bunched under me and I had pulled a piece of it over me.
Let me emphasize that the throw WAS NOT ON.
This girl, this cat right here... she's too smart for her own good. She turned it on...HIGH. Then she laid on top of me. I could not wake up to save myself. I tried and tried and I could hear Hubs and the kids and I kept trying to talk. I couldn't. Finally when I was able to push her and the throw off of me and cool down some, I could get up. I was drenched in sweat from the waist up. It sucked.
This cat, Scrawnie girl, she's just really good at working gadgets. Too good. She used to work my cd player. She prefers Jewel-- I believe it's the Pieces of Me cd that is her favorite.
You can even see in the picture above she HAS the remote. Her eyes are challenging me to try and take it away from her.
Crazy isn't it?

She needs therapy...lots of it.
So, yesterday the kids therapist did a home visit and as we were sitting in the living room doing a family therapy session in comes my middle cat, Purries. (We have 3).
She's carrying her teddy bear in her mouth and she's meowing a high pitch scream for good measure, I guess. I was so embarrassed. I tried to play it off but then it got worse.
The kids were all sprawled across the floor in a half circle. Purries joined the circle. That wasn't good enough for her. She went up to the therapist and jumped on his lap where she then put her face in his.
I told him she needed therapy too. I said she's been acting awful talking back, etc... he chuckled. Then I yelled to Purries to get down and go to her room. She turned around and did her meow ow ow ow thing to me (talking back) and she shot me dirty looks. I looked at the therapist and said "you see." Then I told her to get down again. She did but not happily.
As she was leaving, the therapist said she had to learn it from somewhere and he looked at each of the kids.
Purrs picked up her teddy and went back to her room.
Cats...they are crazy aren't they?
I'm going to try to get her talking back to me on video so I can post it here. It's something else.
