We used Avery 5895 labels but any 2 1/3" x 3 3/8" label will do.
I write on them before I put them on the ziploc bag. I also put them on the bag first before the food or I make sure that the surface is dry.
I used to use sharpies to write on the bag but they smeared or I was covered in marker by the time I was done.
If you have any problems with the download let me know and I'll e-mail them. I just wanted to make it easier for everyone who asked for them to get them.

Hey -- I got your comment about lime green beans and wanted to be more specific. I should probably call them "Garlic-Lime Green Beans" -- it's my mom's recipe. You start with cooked green beans (either fresh and blanched OR canned OR frozen and thawed/cooked according to instructions -- I usually use canned to be faster). There is two different ways I do it: 1. Saute them in a little butter or margarine (1 T. for one can) for about 5 minutes (until tender or until the margarine flavor has soaked in -- otherwise the lime juice will be too strong). Add garlic salt to taste. Add 1 tablespoon of lime juice. OR 2) Saute them with the margarine and 1 clove of fresh (or jarred) minced garlic. Then add salt and lime juice.
If it tastes too bitter, then try adding a little more salt or let it cook longer in the margarine the next time. I know this is kinda a complicated way to explain it -- maybe I'll mess with it and come up with a more exact recipe! :) Enjoy!
