Did I Mention I Am Exhausted??

because I feel like I can just drop right here, right now.

But Hubs has a long night tonight and unfortunately I am the one preforming the procedure.

I didn't get much sleep last night because it was still immensely cold in the house and every time I did drift off I was jolted back awake by: Hubs, kids, dogs, etc...

Let's put it this way. I was on the sofa and the light was still on when I went to wake the kids up for school.

That was an ordeal in itself considering BOTH the hot and cold water were frozen. I had even left the hot water running and it froze over.

I was trying to get as much as I could done without water. Which when you think about it, all of a sudden everything is water based.

For example,

I'll run the dishwasher! uh...no
I'll do the laundry! uh...no
I'll wipe down the counters and the table! uh...no
I'll clean out my bathroom, like I've been meaning to! uh..no
I know! All this free time! I'll take a shower!...na uh.

For some reason my mind kept centering around water based stuff. Because as I sit here and type I can ramble off a list of all I have to do that isn't water based to name a few...

Clear kitchen counter desk.
Clear living room counter desk.
Put away Christmas tote (yep...still out. I think it's now become my living room coffee table. lol)
Forms to fill out. etc..etc...

At any rate, as I was getting ready to get Hubs up and the cold water had been flowing for about 2 hours, I get a call. The boy is sick. Fine. I go pick him up. I gave him some robotussin and told him to take a nap.

An hour later he comes out to ask if he can go to the bathroom and his face and upper neck are covered in hives and he's been scratching some of them raw. 1.) he never told me he was sick. 2.) he didn't even bother to come out and tell me he was itchy. 3.) He's had that same medicin from that very bottle without incident.

I gave him some Eucedrin(sp?) for his face to stop the iching and burning. Some benydral for his reaction and some kid's ibruprofen for his fever. Good times!

Then we were off because both the boy and the oldest were scheduled for therapy sessions. We ended up only having the oldest's session because the boy fell asleep at the office. The therapist said to just cancel for today.

That gave us two hours before the Math Club let out (that's where the other three were). We decided to head over to Costco to stock up on a few things. That place sucks you in with all the cool stuff and the samples. lol

We ended up leaving there later than we intended to. Then, because of the directionally challenged person that I am, I got lost going home showing Hubs the really cool way I get home when he's not with me and I'm coming home from Costco. Hey, all I can say is I don't know what happened. I make it home when I'm by myself don't I? LOL

Finally, 15 minutes late, I picked the kids up from the Math Club and we were heading for confession. Because it was getting so late. We postponed it and just stopped at the store to pick up the cake and cupcakes for Poufy's birthday tomorrow. I was supposed to pick them up earlier but never made it. I had to pick them up otherwise I would be making a mad dash tomorrow morning, seeing that the cupcakes were for school.

As, I was picking up last minute items. I realized that I was going to have to have the party tonight because tomorrow night they have a Girl Scout cookie workshop (ship! 4 girls selling cookies at once. Lord help me!) and we've postponed confession to right before the workshop.

So, we came home and I threw together those BBQ chicken cup thingies. I think they call them barbecups or something and quickly got her presents together and set the table for it. It was a success. lol

So after getting them all to settle down and go to bed after cake and ice cream, here I am.

Someone catch me before I hit the floor.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

So this is my first time doing Tackle It Tuesday. When I read the description I just knew this was the motivation I needed to keep going.

I always feel like I'm not being productive but I've still been pressing on. I can see the "little" things I've done around the house but when I look at the big picture, it just looks like one big mess.

Originally, I was going to tackle making and hanging curtains around my house but halfway through it I realized I needed more hardware. So tomorrow I will be off to buy what I need so that curtains can be next week's Tackle It Tuesday.

So, without further ado... I decided my very first Tackle It Tuesday would be *drum roll*

MY CREDIT REPORT *tada*

(is that crickets?...maybe some looks of mortification?)

I've been putting it off. There are SEVERAL discrepencies on my credit report. I know I have to file the form above to get them removed but for some reason the whole credit deal...well who likes it really?

After I reviewed my 3-in-1 credit report. I noticed that there were two items that weren't mistakes. Well, one that I know for sure I have to pay because although I paid my mother the cash when she wrote a check for me, apparently she didn't put the moolah in the bank or "something". So, I have just sucked it up that I will have to pay that one again.

The other, I wasn't really sure about. It was to the gas company. The amount seemed about right for a bill. I wondered if maybe I didn't pay a closing bill or something?

So listen to what I do, the genius that I am... I call the electric company to try and pay the gas company. For some reason the electric company's phone number was listed on my report under all the lists of previous creditors and my mind just thought "oh, that's the number"

See I'm quick like that.

I call, give them the account number and the amount I owe. They have no record. I insist it is on my credit report. The person asks me for previous addresses, I give. Still no record. Then she asks me family members names. I give her my mom's and all of a sudden she's like "oh yes, you owe an obscene amount." Well, ok, she didn't exactly say that. But she might as well have.

huh?

She explains how the system cross references last names and "some how" my bill had rolled over to my mom's account but my mom contested it and now I am listed as the responsible party.

Did I say "huh?"

I asked how that was possible and that amount was waaay too high. She tells me she has an address but I have to give it to her. I've given her my addresses and no match. So I start to give her my mother's previous addresses. I ask her if they match...nothing.

I'm on hold again.

At this point, I'm fuming with my mother. I'm not on speaking terms with her but ARGH! How can they do this?

The rep comes back on and says she has to pass it to a Supervisor because they don't really know what's going on...at least that's it in a nutshell. They'll call me back.

So, I go fuming to Hubs and break down the call and everything to him. Apparently, back in the day my mom and him were talking about crooked companies or something and she had told him that the electric company had tried to roll my bill over to her. At least when she called to find out why her bill was so much, they had told her they rolled mine on to hers.

Now, let me take a moment to ask, has this ever happened to anyone? Is this even legal?

Back to the story, sorry it's so long, She said she had straightened it out.

I'm thinking. Who else have they "crosslinked" to us and what bill are they trying to get me to pay?

The facts...

They couldn't link anything to me and really had no record of me owing them a cent.

There is nothing on my credit report that says that I owe them a cent.

I don't leave bills hanging, I don't believe I owe them a thing.

I wonder what story they are going to concoct to get me to pay whoever's bill.

The moral of this story.

If you are going to tackle something. THINK and call the right people! lol

Next week, really something simple, curtains.

Productivity is my middle name

So, I got up bright and early this morning and got the kids up and going to get ready for school. As they were getting ready, I faxed out some documents that needed faxing, sent out DH's student loan paperwork and all my netflix dvds (catching up on Sex and the City) and got two loads of laundry folded and dispersed. The kids got about half their chores done this morning as well.

Since I was on a roll, I went ahead and popped in my walking dvd and did that whilst I was waiting for DH's pills to kick in so I could get him up and in his chair. After I got him up and he was enjoying his raspberry iced tea. I jumped in the shower.

What was all the excitement about? DH and I were going to the movies...AGAIN...we were going to get out and go see Ratatouille. It's amazing what such a small outing did for me. We walked the mall (where I got to reminisce about the old days when I fit into clothes from Wet Seal and places like that.) Watched the movie and then went to the food court where DH had lunch and I had a small vanilla cone from DQ.

Typically I hate malls. I used to go when I needed new lotion from Victoria's or an outfit for something. I don't like the crowds of half dressed people acting stupid. It just ruins the whole shopping experience for me. Even as a teen it just wasn't my scene.

But I didn't want to leave today because we were OUT and KID FREE. But we had to because we had to be back in time for the bus.

BUMMER!

However, DH and I have agreed to try and make this a weekly thing. Next week we are hoping to see Underdog. It's an expensive way to get out, but what else can we do during school hours that's close to home? The city with all the cool stuff is an hour away.

Hmmm...
