Tackle It Tuesday- The Update

Today Will Be A Good Day!
It will because I am just going to "Let go, and Let God". Last night I made a list of 13 things I hope to accomplish today. Laundry is at the top and I already have a load to fold, a load drying and a load washing. I am just going to focus on that and not the pile waiting for me :-)
The other stuff is fairly straightforward and easy. Maybe I'll post it here...you know what I will, accountability. Actually, I realized that as I typed this that it is Tuesday so I'm going to make this a challenge to myself to tackle it all today, hopefully most of it will be done by noon.

My list:

Laundry- So far five loads folded and put away. One in the washer, one in the dryer. I think I have 1 or 2 more after that. It's a small one since it's clothes from Friday up until now.

*****Living Room Screens (3)

Miter Broken Ceiling Mould (4)

I forgot to take a picture before I mitered so here are the broken pieces
and then the finished moulds

Finish last bits of flooring around the edges by the game room
Before:
After:

Put down carpet strip by game room
Before:

After:
******Separate all Papers from Master Bathroom floor

******Separate all Magazines from Master Bathroom floor

Pick up weeds that I pulled last night

Before:

After: That pile was bigger than I thought. It filled the whole trash can!

Get rid of rock of concrete from bag that got wet

Who knew that concrete was so fricken heavy in it's solid form! Just kidding, obviously it turned into two hunks of concrete. UGH!
Before:
After:
No wonder I couldn't move that hose. I tried to yesterday and then forgot what I was doing. lol

Put tires under the ramp

Before:
After: I guess I should have taken a picture of the tires under the ramp. But I liked this better. :-)

Stain wood bits

This is the wood that needs to be stained.
This is some of the wood that I had already stained. It needs a coat of polyurethane but I figured I do that part all at once. After, all are stained and polyurethaned

******Paint windowed wall and around front door

Remove curtain hardware from windowed wall AND Patch wall across from game room and windowed wall (I combined these two because once the hardware was taken down it needed to be patched. )

These are some of the parts that need to be patched.

After removal of hardware and patching,

Some of these things have to be done before others. The master bathroom part is trying to keep the kids out of the stuff I am sorting and they are not allowed in my room or bathroom. So that's what that is about. However. It sure makes for a messy bathroom. lol

Today was The Oldest first day of school. Whoo hoo! She seems to like it a lot, plus some how a lot of her attitude has started to melt away and she seems softer and more empathetic.

Alright, I better get to it, I still have to feed the kids and get Hubs up and into his chair.
I am excited about this tackle! I will be back to update as I move along.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

It's Tuesday and yet again, I won't be home much today. Seems like I try to avoid scheduling things on Monday because it's Monday and then end up overdoing it on Tuesday. Does anyone else do that?

Anyhoo, I was supposed to tackle filing but I have searched high and low for a new filing cabinet and to my dismay no stores in my area have any yet.

Since I am soooooclose to finishing a baby quilt I started 12 years ago, (I know, 12 years is a looong time--but I don't give up. lol) I'm going to work on that and updating my craft blog between now and next Tuesday.

So for now here's a picture of the progress on the baby blanket.

This Tuesday, just like last Tuesday, I will not be home so I decided to take it easy and postpone the filing tackle I was going to work on for this:

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I haven't been home all day so mine is going to be a "Tackle It Tuesday Night". I have several completed projects that I must get sent out in tomorrow's mail. Let's just say it's been over a month or so since I've been "sending them".

In addition to getting those mailed, I have some things that need to be sent to another friend for her daughters and some stuff for my nephews. Yep...I've got about 5 boxes at least that gotta go.

I'm aiming for Thursday at the latest being that tomorrow is SS's birthday, Girl Scouts and Catechism. I'm thinking they may not be going to Girl Scouts. I don't know yet. But that is my tackle.

Oh and I keep forgetting I need to make two dozen cupcakes for SS tomorrow for her birthday celebration and school. Who knew homemade cupcakes were better than store bought?

Wish me luck! lol

Tackle It Tuesday-- Another Late Edition

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I haven't been home all day and finally I had a chance to finish up the last of the-- are you ready?

ADOPTION PAPERS!

These three little envelopes are going to permanently change our lives forever. Well, not necessarily the envelopes but definitely the adoption will finalize it all, of course.

As I sealed the last envelope I asked Hubs if he still wanted to do this because he needed to speak now or forever hold his peace. He said he still wanted to but it wasn't the naive Hubs that practically bubbled over in the beginning. It was more of a cautious Hubs who has been worn down and beat up by 5 children. lol

I guess what it boils down to, is despite how much they torment us and treat us so badly, we can still see a dim light at the end of the tunnel. Even if it's a tiny little tip of a needle dot of light. It's still something and for now, that's good enough for us.

So that is my tackle, small and yet soooo big. For more tackles or if you are tackling something yourself and want to join, click here.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

This Tuesday I am going to tackle something that I can't even begin to fathom where it came from. Last week, I looked up and I saw my desk for what it had become.

A mountain of crap. It's been a popular dumping spot for the kids and I hadn't even noticed because I've been working from the sofa when I haven't been dropping dead or away from home.

I'm hoping to get it done by next Tuesday considering this week is jam packed. I have three back to back eye appointments tomorrow morning. Two kids have therapy appointments in the afternoon. Wednesday is the tour of the catholic school and catechism, Thursday there are two more therapy appointments and Friday- the girls start selling cookies, I have to go to a first confession meeting. Saturday the girls have a girl scout function. It's just going to be back to back this week and the beginning of next week! *sigh*

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

This Tuesday I tackled the mountain of Christmas lights that I stupidly thought I was "stacking" together. When I went to pick the top set up it turned out to be a huge bundle of light sets. ARGH!

I eventually got all 15 sets seperated, as well as the three sets of larger snow flake lights. I couldn't have done it without the help of this here Hershey Bar...540 calories later, I had a tote packed and ready to store. I will never "stack" Christmas lights again!

What did you tackle today?

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Finally I am able to get to Tackle It Tuesday. I've been doing tackles left and right and I have tackles to post but since this... my files still need to be transferred from backup. Pics and everything. I don't know when I will get those transferred. It will have to be one of my tackles!

Anyway, recent tackles were my kitchen. I have it half done the way I want it. I have " lazy little helpers" who throw things everywhere and don't have any regard for anything.

I labeled and organized the area where we keep our daily dishes so that I can fool myself into the false belief that the kids will actually read them and put stuff there...nicely.the kids would be able to find them and put them away easier.

Here they are:

The next thing I did was put these up in my pantry.

I've been wanting these because I used to keep this stuff in a drawer next to the stove but I needed the space to put my good silverware. So, finally they are up and I am loving them. I didn't trust that the kids wouldn't pull them off the inside of the doors of the cabinets so I put them up high.

I have to make a list of my new tackles for tomorrow. Maybe I should put them here and update.

UPDATE: My internet was down, so I'll just cross out the things that I have done already.

  • I have to plan out which cookies I am going to make and whose going to get them.

  • I have to take out all the Christmas stuff and figure out what I am going to do about that. My Christmas decor (lights and all) go up December 1st.

  • I have to steam clean my carpet in the hallway and the living room. Desperately.

  • Clean out the aquarium.

  • Clean the Bettas homes.

  • Finish organizing the kitchen- i.e. Pots and pans area now. Fix the broken drawer that left. (I fixed two others when I did the stuff above)

  • Work on gift crafts.

  • Clear my new desk

  • File paperwork

  • Put out some letters in the mail.

  • Make Christmas Card List.

I think I'll stop here. I'm making an impossible list. lol
